Frogfolk

Inhabiting the swamps and rainforests of the world, frogfolk are a curious and affable species deeply rooted in mysticism. Most stay within their tribes, enjoying nature to the clutter of civilization. Yet, despite their reclusive nature, frogfolk are considered to be among the most welcoming of the Other Worlders to the New Humans, as their faith compels them to render aid whenever possible. Thus, it is not uncommon to find frogfolk druids, alchemists, and shamans that setup shop just outside major pockets of civilization. Likewise, some tadpoles, even more courageous, take up the call of the adventurer.

Frogfolk are generally shorter, ranging between four to five feet tall at their full height. They range in color, from the deep, spotted red-and-blue, to green, to a toady, warty brown. They are naturally good-hearted and good-willed, yet simultaneously reserved; in other words, quick to help but slow to trust. However, once their loyalty is won, it is rarely lost.

Broken-Winged

For centuries, the evil tarthii ruled Mount Tarthus, until the merging upset the balance of power. The weakest of them were stripped of their ability to fly by their brethren and cast from the mountain, forced to walk the earth with those they once viewed as prey. But time forced them to adapt, setting aside the sins of their ancestors and making allies with New Humans who did not hold the ancient prejudices of the Other Worlders. Now, the self-titled Broken-Winged walk the lands of men, eking out an existence where they can, and seeking to repair their broken pride.

The Broken-Winged are tall, sleek humanoids with small wings, and sharp talon-like hands and feet. Plumage often sprouts on the sides of their faces as well as their torsos and legs, matching the color of their wing's plumage: typically, white, brown, or gold. It is common for them to hide their features with a bird-like mask carved of wood.

They are a tempestuous people, fueled by intense emotion. Without governance, these emotions often descend to cruelty and hatred, but decades of forced co-existence without humans has engendered a discipline known as 'The Flight'. Broken-Winged who practice The Flight, while still temperamental and fiercely passionate, are able to channel positive emotion towards constructive ends.

Half-Elves

Bearing the hallmarks of their airy, immortal parentage and human parentage, half-elves are lithe, graceful beings with an otherworldly appearance. The tips of their ears come to points, and their skin, hair, and irises range from pale blue to blonde to white. Some find them ethereally beautiful, while others seem them as alien.

Having the human element, their personalities can vary wildly, but most have a strong predisposition towards cleanliness, eloquence, and grace. They tend to appreciate fine art and what they call "high" music: strings, flutes, and none of the thumping drums of Kipling artists, for whom half-elves have a distinct distaste. Despite this, they do not consider themselves above other races, though they sometimes fall into viewing them as a curiosity rather than equals.

Half-elves are almost exclusively raised by their human parentage, with brief visits from their elven parents. Even those born to elven mothers are almost always given to their fathers after birth. In cases where their human parents are no longer living or able to care for the child, their elven parent carefully monitors and then chooses a family to raise their child, presenting them with the opportunity and promises of "elvish gifts". They visit their child often in the younger years, but as they mature, those visits become increasingly sparse.

Because of this, many half-elves have a complicated relationship with their parents. Some are driven by a need to discover more about their immortal ancestry, and even undertake the near impossible quest of locating their elvish parent; others bitterly reject their heritage. Half-elves often find kinship with other half-elves, and form communities together.
